The new GLP iQ.Tool Pro is a compact, battery-powered service tool designed for the maintenance and configuration of DMX/RDM-compatible devices. The iQ.Tools simplify daily work with lighting systems through a range of smart features that can be controlled via an intuitive mobile app.

The GLP iQ.Tool Pro stands out with its universal compatibility, working seamlessly with most DMX/RDM devices on the market. With Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE 4.2), the tool connects effortlessly to mobile devices. Its compact design, complemented by a robust protective case and a practical belt clip, ensures easy and secure handling in everyday use.

The GLP iQ.Tool Pro features a spectral light sensor.

Overview

The Phantom 30 consists of a number of 1m² aluminium frames carrying the display pixels. The frames are powered externally by power supply units that can be located separately from the frames. Control is from a Drive Box that is configured by a PC or laptop with configuration software.

Content and external media sever are supplied by the client.

Display

Each 1m x 1m frame carries 32 translucent polycarbonate tubes, each holding 32 ultrabright LED pixels at a pitch of 30mm. Each fram may be connected to other frames, using the patented QuickLock system, or fixed separately.

Speed

The DVI input is transmitted to the configured display positions at full video speed via fibre optic cables which are daisychained between frames.

Reliability

Because G-LEC display equipment is used daily in the demanding conditions found on stages and in studios around the world, the technology, both hardware and software, is designed to be hardwearing and robust. G-LEC uses high specification cables, connectors and electronic and mechanical components to ensure the reliability needed for large live performances.

The PDS Power Distribution suitcase can be used in a flexible manner in many applications; it can be safely powered in any outdoor event and boasts a spill-resistant design.

Without being bulky or cumbersome the PDS protects the PDU from humidity and moisture with its IP 44 rating. In addition it is ideal for use on construction sites, to get a lighting system up and running quickly, while at the same time being protected from dirt. In fact this easily transportable and stackable Power Distribution Suitcase is an ideal companion for any outdoor usage. It can easily be secured with a padlock to protect it against unauthorised use.

Anything that needs to be housed in a heavy and bulky rack can be installed here as a complete solution directly in a suitcase with 7.5 kg flyweight. The sockets are screwed directly to the housing and the dimensions of the case are just 510mm x 200mm x 410mm (LWH).

There are separate versions for both 16 and 32 amps. But for an extra layer of safety, opt for the ‘S’ version. Here, each of the six outlets has an extra circuit breaker and the event or construction project will continue running, even on short circuit, without interruption.

With the new DoP Converter (DMX over Powerline), GLP is offering a unique system that can transmit up to 10 DMX universes via a single power cable.

DoP can be used wherever DMX data is to be transmitted, but laying separate DMX lines is either not possible or not economical. GLP is thus providing a sensible alternative to standard wireless connections (WDMX, CRMX, etc.) that are sometimes susceptible to interference when each requires transmitter and receiver, and can be subject to severe limitations of the locally-available radio network.

GLP’s DoP is therefore particularly suitable for integration into existing infrastructure within the entire architectural lighting sector, especially in historic buildings, with existing power rail systems (e.g. museums, galleries, hotels, restaurants and retail) as well as in the lighting of public spaces.

With the new GLP DoP Converter, DMX signals can be sent over the existing power line or an existing power rail system without having to lay an additional data line or double-occupy an existing data line. With this technology, the DMX signal is modulated onto existing power lines and immediately evaluated by the fixture. It is irrelevant whether the devices to be controlled are in direct line of sight or behind thick concrete walls. To feed in and output the DMX signal, the DoP converter only needs to be connected to the same power line as the lights to be controlled and connected to the DMX controller.

If the GLP DoP Converter is set to TX mode (transmitter mode), it modulates the 512 DMX channels of a DMX universe onto the connected power line. In RX mode (receiver mode) it converts the modulated DMX universe back from the connected power line and offers 24, 128 or 512 DMX channels at one of the three DMX outputs. By simply coupling the DoP converter, up to 10 universes can be sent over a power line and decoupled at any point.

GLP DoP Converter UM (Universal Mount) was specially developed for universal installation between ceilings or walls and for individual requirements. The compact housing enables simple surface mounting in all conceivable applications.

There are three different license models available. While all three license versions allow the DMX-to-DoP conversion (TX) of a full 512 DMX channels, the reconversion from DoP to DMX is divided into three license levels:

• The RX024 version enables conversion of up to 24 DMX channels
• The RX128 version of up to 128 DMX channels
• The RX512 version of up to 512 DMX channels

GLP DoP Converter DINRail has been specially developed for installation in new set-ups or retrofitted in existing control cabinets. The standardized housing enables quick installation on any 35mm DIN-35 rail, in accordance with EN 50222.

• The RX024 version enables conversion of up to 24 DMX channels

The D3Prog is a service tool for firmware updates of GLP devices and should not be missing in any technician's bag.

Via USB or Sub-D 9pin, different firmware versions can be stored on different memory locations via PC, which can then be conveniently loaded onto the fixture via DMX Link (RS458/DMX) or AVR/ISP at the touch of a button.

To bypass unnecessarily required XLR adapters, the D3Prog is equipped with both an XLR 5-pin female and an XLR 3-pin female connector. Multiple fixtures in a DMX line can also be brought up to speed simultaneously, saving an enormous amount of time.

For maximum service convenience, the D3prog is battery-powered and can therefore be used independently of mains voltage.
