Washlight or giant LED bar? The GLP Creos is much more than just an LED wash

Delivery of new LED multipixel washlight to begin soon

With the new Creos, GLP is pushing the boundaries of the LED washlight, since it can achieve so much more than just the classic wall-wash. The Creos is a powerful, IP65-certified LED washlight with 18x 40W RGBL LEDs and motorized zoom. Thanks to its clusterable design, with consistent LED pixel pitch, several devices can be lined up horizontally and thus form into a seamless, gigantic LED bar.

Lighting designers will love these powerful LED bar looks. Due to the wide zoom range, extremely large wall-wash applications can be implemented, while the particularly narrow beam enables never-before-seen light curtains to be created, with impressive light intensity.

Due to this versatility—and Creos’ ability to combine the functions of several spotlights in a single device—it not only saves money on the budget, but also saves weight in the rig. The GLP Creos’ 18x 40W RGBL LEDs are arranged in three rows of six pixels each. The motorized 1:12 zoom ranges from a very powerful 4.3° beam to an equally-powerful homogeneous 52° wash.

In addition to the standard colour temperature of 6,500 K, users can choose other fixed colour temperatures (3,200 K, 4,200 K, 5,600 K and 8,000 K). Thanks to the proprietary GLP iQ.Gamut colour mixing algorithm, which automatically adds the colour Lime, a TLCI of 77 is guaranteed in High Quality mode. This impressive colour reproduction also makes the Creos suitable for trade fair and TV applications.

However, when the fixture is set to High Output, the Creos delivers a total output of 7,600 lm, with up to 673 kcd light intensity.

Wall-wash, mid-air FX and pixel mapping from one device

With a motorized lamp head that can be swiveled through 190°, the fixture can cover different lighting scenarios. The wide zoom range allows mid-air beams to be created, as well as pixel mapping and wall-wash effects, making the device a real all-rounder in any environment.

The IP65-certified housing enables the Creos to be operated both indoors and temporarily outdoors, and protects the device not only from wind and rain, but also from dust, dirt, confetti particles and fog fluid residue. Thus complex cleaning can be avoided, which in turn reduces servicing time and cost, and enables consistent utilisation of the devices.

For particularly flexible use, in addition to the PowerCon True 1 In/Out and DMX 5pin In/Out, two fail-safe EtherNet ports and the proven GLP iQ.Mesh system are already integrated. Handles integrated into the side of the housing make transportation particularly easy and comfortable. Although IP-certified, the fixture weighs just 20 kg, making it compact and absolutely suitable for everyday use despite its considerable range of performance.

Demo devices are now available in sufficient quantities from all GLP bases and via sales partners worldwide. Pre-orders are already being accepted, with an official delivery start date announced for November 2024.

The Creos completed its first field test operations in recent weeks at the Die Ärzte Open-Air on Tempelhofer Feld, in the In Extremo headliner show at Wacken Open Air and on the show stage at the Austrian MotoGP.
