GLP Announces Official Sales Start of E-Frost for Creos

Three-Segment Smart Glass Innovation Now Shipping Worldwide

Following successful previews at recent international trade shows, GLP has announced the official sales start of its new E-Frost Filter for the GLP Creos. Already widely discussed among designers for its highly distinctive look, the E-Frost now becomes fully available through GLP’s global distribution network. Built on advanced Smart Glass Technology and developed exclusively for the Creos, E-Frost enables an entirely new level of beam and wash manipulation—down to individual frost segments—and introduces a form of creative control that conventional diffusion systems simply cannot offer.

Next-Level Frost Control for a Hybrid Powerhouse

The GLP Creos has established itself as one of the most adaptable and powerful LED hybrid fixtures on the market. It functions as a tight 4° beamlight with a peak intensity of up to 1.2 Mcd, a fully capable washlight with a motorized zoom extending to a wide, uniform 50°, and a highly expressive creative backlight with three horizontally aligned LED arrays. Arranged in clusters, multiple units merge visually into giant LED bars, thanks to the Creos’ continuous pixel pitch and perfectly aligned pixel rows. Compact dimensions, integrated carrying handles, and a robust IP65-rated housing make its durable, touring-ready design unmistakably clear – for both indoor and outdoor productions.

Premium Color Quality with X5-Lineage

Color performance in the Creos is driven by GLP’s advanced iQ.Gamut algorithm, offering the same premium color quality and precise colormatching found in the company’s flagship X5 Series. The combination of RGB plus Lime LEDs produces deeply vivid primaries and a nuanced range of hues, while delivering exceptional color rendering, particularly at lower color temperatures. Designers can work with accurate and selectable white points, an extended CTC range from 2,500 to 10,000 Kelvin, tint adjustments along the black body line, and various tungsten emulation curves that authentically reproduce the dimming response and redshift behavior designers are asking for. The additional Lime spectrum increases efficiency and enhances skin tone reproduction, making the Creos equally compelling for concert stages, corporate environments, and camera-critical applications.

Three-Segment E-Frost: A Creative Breakthrough

With the introduction of the new three-segment E-Frost Filter, the Creos gains a transformative upgrade that fundamentally expands its creative identity. The filter is divided into three independently controllable Smart Glass segments that align precisely with the fixture’s three LED arrays. Each segment can transition from a clear, hard-edged beam to a fully frosted wash surface within milliseconds. More importantly, these transitions are not limited to static states: the segments can be faded dynamically, allowing for kinetic effects such as rolling frost waves, pulsing transitions, progressive diffusion sweeps, or subtle animated textures across the width of the fixture. This segmented approach creates looks that were previously unobtainable, enabling the Creos to shift seamlessly between beam, wash, and deeply atmospheric multi-layered effects without any physical changes to the fixture or its accessories.

Black and White Frost Options

E-Frost is available as both a White Frost and a Black Frost variant. The white version provides an even, high-output diffusion ideal for large-scale stages and bright wash applications. The black version, by contrast, reduces reflective glare and allows the fixture to disappear visually when unlit—an essential advantage for broadcast studios, theatres, and high-end event environments. Installation is straightforward: the filter attaches via the integrated Quick Lock System using four tool-free knurled screws, while power and data are routed directly through the GLP FX.Port. The filter’s control channels are already included in the CREOS’ DMX chart, ensuring immediate integration into existing show files.

IP65 Durability for Real-World Production Conditions

As with the Creos itself, the E-Frost is fully IP65-rated, constructed from durable aluminum, and engineered for temperatures ranging from -10°C to +45°C. Its resilience makes it suitable for challenging environments including rain, wind, dust, pyro, confetti fallout, and the physical demands of touring. Together, the Creos and E-Frost provide an exceptional value proposition for rental companies, theatres, houses of worship, broadcast stages, touring productions, and large-scale outdoor events seeking a high-performance hybrid fixture with an unusually broad creative range. The Creos E-Frost is now shipping, and GLP’s international distribution partners are ready to support orders worldwide.

GLP will showcase the Creos and the new E-Frost Filter live at LDI 2025. Visitors are invited to experience the full system in action at Booth #4435 from December 7 to 9.
