GLP delivers massive punch for Sabaton at gamescom 2025

Heavy metal meets gaming – with GLP providing the visual backbone. For Sabaton’s spectacular appearance at gamescom 2025, lighting designer Bertil Mark relied on a powerful setup comprising JDC2 IP and MATRIX Eye blinders. With massive output, precise dimming and flexible configuration options, the fixtures delivered maximum impact in Hall 1 of Koelnmesse – both for the live audience and for millions watching the livestream. The new MATRIX Eye 2 and 4 in particular stood out for saturated colours, high-quality white light and exactly the kind of punch a show of this scale demands. The result was a visual storm in perfect sync with the energy of Sabaton and Wargaming’s gamescom production.

Light that brings history to life: GLP Nexus in ancient Tenea

Where archaeology meets lighting design: in ancient Tenea, GLP’s battery-powered Nexus fixtures were used for the first time in a temporary installation. Cable-free, app-controlled and IP65-rated for use in outdoor environments, they opened up new creative possibilities within an active excavation site. Lighting designer Sofia Alexiadou used their flexibility to subtly highlight archaeological structures, allowing them to transition seamlessly into the natural light of dusk. The result was an atmospheric and respectful installation, creating a visual dialogue between past and present.

impression X5 Dot Wash – X5 colour quality in an ultra-compact form factor

Small, silent and highly versatile: with the impression X5 Dot Wash, GLP brings the acclaimed colour quality of the X5 platform into an ultra-compact, static fixture for the first time. Barely larger than a traditional Birdie, it delivers precise colour in full X5 quality, including iQ.Gamut, smooth dimming and impressive output for its size – ideal wherever space is limited. Whether in theatre, TV or architectural settings, the X5 Dot Wash fills a long-standing gap and blends seamlessly into existing X5 systems. A compact tool with serious creative potential.
