| | GLP News - March 2026 |
| Hello Visitor, before you know it, the first quarter is already over — and this March newsletter has a lot packed into it: new products in standout productions, bold looks on international stages, stops in London, Las Vegas, Paris and Katowice — and, in between, a packed house here in Karlsbad for our traditional GLP Heimspiel. On top of that, we’ve got an exclusive interview with one of the true icons of theatrical lighting design: Neil Austin talks about his journey from school theatre to the very top of Broadway and the West End.
Enjoy the read and the video!

MAD MAXX – made to impress | | | With its huge 750 mm beam diameter, up to 68,000 lumens of output and unmistakable lens design, GLP’s new super-fatbeam is making serious waves in large-scale lighting. Whether as a bold arena effect, a real eye-catcher on festival stages or a modern LED alternative to classic Xenon searchlights, MAD MAXX delivers maximum presence. Its early appearances in productions with T-Pain, Playboi Carti and at the Valley of the Seven Stars Festival show just how much interest MAD MAXX is already generating.
| | Paddington meets X5 Dot Wash in London | | | The super compact GLP X5 Dot Wash made its first major appearance in Paddington – The Musical in London. Initiated by lighting designer Neil Austin, it was conceived as a compact, practical LED answer to the legendary “Birdie.” In the acclaimed West End production, the new fixture is proving just how much precision, colour quality and flexibility can be built into such a compact format. | | | |
| | A New Year’s Eve spectacular in Poland | | | Set against the iconic Spodek Arena in Katowice, Sylwester z Dwójką once again went big — with 350 GLP fixtures as part of the setup. In demanding winter conditions, JDC Burst 1 and impression X5 IP delivered exactly the mix of energy, colour quality and reliability a live TV production of this scale calls for. | | | |
| | 770 JDC fixtures for Formula 1 in Las Vegas | | | For the Formula 1 Grand Prix in Las Vegas, DX7 Design went all in with 770 GLP JDC hybrid fixtures. JDC2 IP and JDC Burst 1 delivered maximum visibility in the paddock, along the track and across the fan zones — holding their own against rain, hail and the intense glow of the Strip. | | | |
| | A big show for a good cause: Weihnachten neu erleben with GLP support | | | Every other year, Weihnachten neu erleben draws tens of thousands of people to Karlsruhe’s dm-Arena for a charity production on a truly impressive scale. With more than 300 GLP fixtures, GLP once again supported a show where technical ambition, volunteer commitment and social impact come together in a truly remarkable way. | | | |
| Paris in pink with MAD MAXX | | | At Octobre Rose, the annual breast cancer awareness campaign in Paris, a single GLP MAD MAXX was enough to create the key visual moment of the evening. Positioned right behind the stage, the fatbeam lit the upper structure of the Eiffel Tower at exactly those moments when maximum impact was needed. | | | |

A great turnout at GLP Heimspiel | | | Mid-March was a busy one at GLP headquarters in Karlsbad: first, 25 international distribution partners came together for the GLP Distributor Summit, joining Product Management and an experienced international lighting designer for workshops on strategy, best practice and market experience.
The very next day, things got even busier at the legendary GLP Heimspiel, with around 100 guests from across the industry joining us for more workshops, product demos, exciting previews of upcoming products, a strong panel talk and, of course, the traditional GLP party afterwards. A huge thank you to everyone who joined us – we had a fantastic time. |
