we’ve released a new firmware update for the GLP JDC2 IP.

‍New Features and improvements

  • Solved: DigiFX Transition channel did not work
  • Solved: coordinate_transform miscalculation if both unit and axis differ from default.

‍Info

  • This update is show critical compared to version 0.7.1-rc7 and is an important update to secure show stable preprogramming and show stable fixture updates in the future.
  • All DMX Modes have been changed and all DMX channel counts are different, compared to version 0.7.1-rc7
  • We strongly recommend against performing this update on-site
  • Power cycle the fixture after the update

How to update

Precaution / before the update

 

Please connect your fixtures via DMX (Bootloader Update) AND Ethernet (Main Software Update). Make sure your Ethernet adapter and fixtures are on the same network settings and check if you see the fixtures via the iQ.Service App.

 

You just may use the default DHCP and have your fixtures for example at 169.254.x.x/16 DHCP and your USB-C to ethernet adapter on 169.254.0.2 / 255.255.0.0

This can be set in the iOS settings on you iPhone as soon an adapter is connected.

Please see and follow the provided update instructions and documentation.

 

The update works in 2 major steps:

 

  1. Via iQ.Service App and iQ.Tool: Bootloader update to V3.4.1, via DMX/RDM.
  2. Via iQ.Service App / iQ.Tool and Ethernet network daisy chained, update the main software via ethernet to V2.0.3.

It is most likely, that an iQ.Mesh software update is suggested as well.

Please perform this after the main firmware update. For iQ.Mesh Updates please set all
fixtures to iQ.Mesh. You can change the control protocol via the upper right tools menu.
Depending on the production lot the iQ.Mesh update will not work on all fixtures. If the update does not work, please contact your local distributor. This update must be
performed then in GLP headquarters.

The regular function and work via DMX and Ethernet is not affected, only the iQ.Mesh will not work.

iQ.Tool:


GLPs advanced service (and more) tool integrated into the iQ.Service platform. It is used for firmware updates via DMX line and can be controlled with the iQ.Service App. It can also be used for controlling non iQ.Mesh fixtures wirelessly.
